Flag day is a holiday for us to Honor our country's Flag. Holiday Insights has a great page on flying the Flag.
One easy craft idea is to make small copies of past American Flags out of felt and star shaped buttons. The stars and stripes can either be sewn or glued if you don't sew.
If you need examples, you can either do a Google Image Search or check out a nice book from your local library.
Another inexpensive idea is getting some of those crepe paper streamers in red, white, and blue.
You can string them up around the house, tie them around flower pots and add a couple paper stars, or use pieces for collaging on other projects. Just tear the strips into squares and glue. Try using the pieces flat or scrunched up in various ways.

Try making flags using squares of colored paper glued to poster board. you put the paper centered on a pencil eraser and run your hand down to make poufs. Add as many as you need to cover the areas of color for the stars (white), background (blue), and stripes (red and white). *(Suggested By Sue Miller)*
