Hi! I'm Mom.

Ok, my name is Laurie, but to my cutie son, I'm Mom.

I'm American and my Husband is Iraqi-Kurdish. We are currently living with family in Northern Iraq about 2 hours south of the border with Turkey. This is just until we can move back to the States. Don't worry, it is safe where we live. The little cutie in the photo with me is my son, Hudy. (pronounced like Houdi in Houdini.)

When he gets a bit older he will probably help me think of more fun craft ideas to share. And maybe even help make some examples to show you.

I served in the US Army for 3 years and the Army Reserves for 3 years, my Husband is currently working as an interpreter with a US Army unit near Mosul. If you see photos of troops on the site, they are family photos.

Please don't think I'm getting political, having been a soldier myself other soldiers seem like family. Which is why I support the troops but NOT any war what so ever.

And about me... I'm also an artist as well as being a stay at home mom. I try to do most of the artwork on this site myself, so please don't steal my images. (Not that you would, but not everyone is honest!) You might like to read "Why I built my Website" if you'd like to know more about how I built my website.

Besides drawing, I also like to sew, knit, paint, and do other crafts.
